Ramsay Marine is a company built on the experience of Richard Ramsay. Richard served his apprenticeship in Chatham Naval Yard in England from 1970 to 1974, and served an extra two years until 1976. At 15 years old, his apprenticeship as a fitter and turner conveyed all aspects of Marine Engineering. This basis stood him in good stead for the years ahead.

In the years to follow, Richard's career covered a wide range of Engineering projects from Sea going Engineering to major industrial new construction projects. Richard's experience stemmed from ships, Power Plants, Refineries, Paper Mills, Foundries, Machine Shops, etc. At 24 he moved to the United States and found himself running a thirty man new construction crew. As pictures are said to be worth a thousand words, if you navigate the Ramsay Marine website you can see some of his past achievements. Richard's wife Muriel also has a 'sea' of knowledge, having built her own boat and sailed the Seven Seas. Muriel has worked painting boats, "rolling and tipping" her way in Florida for the past 12 years.

Muriel and Richard have passed on their skills and experiences to their two boys, Scott and Brad. Richard and Muriel can be found 'floating' between the North Carolina Boatyard and the Florida facility. Scott and Brad can be found at our Florida location.
